A regular but flexible routine is carried out in the toddler rooms, to ensure children are comfortable and know what is going on throughout the day.
The teachers cater for all children’s social and emotional skills. We aim to provide a happy, upbeat atmosphere where the children can learn through dance, self-expression and play.
The children are encouraged to develop their growing independence with guidance from teachers who model appropriate behaviours and give lots of praise.
Our Toddler Learning Program will include stimulating activities , small group interaction, quiet time and free play, in addition to lots of self help activities such as toileting, dressing and care for belongings. There will be many songs and activities which develop the children’s interest in basic concepts such as colours, shapes, numbers and their body.
Our Pre-Kinder Learning Program is derived from the children’s interests and supports their emotional, social, physical and cognitive developments. Children experience a clear structure and flexible routine and explore early concepts of literacy and numeracy, gain an increasing understanding and appreciation for the natural environment and take increasing responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.
We fill our day creating plenty of fun and different experiences including messy play, construction, pretend play, stories, counting, songs and group activities. All children are encouraged to interact in group play, to teach the values of sharing and cooperation as they develop friendships.
Kinder Room: The Botanist 1 & 2 Class
In the Kinder Room, the children will receive the attention that is required to give them the best possible start to their school lives. Our Kinder Learning Program introduces typical school-based subjects, focusing on particular topics that the children want to learn or intentional teaching provided by our teachers. We explore these in a variety of ways where the children can relate, learn and converse.
The children have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of activities on offer as part of the Kinder Room Learning Program, with each day involving indoor learning discovery, outdoor learning, exploration and collaboration at group times.
Pathway to the best primary schools
Starting school is an important milestone in a child’s life and supporting children to successfully transition to school helps foster their enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
At Botanica International School, our kindergarten teachers will do their best to support our parents and their children in regards to the transition to school. Our kindergarten teachers will also develop the transition statement which contains important information about your child’s learning and development at kindergarten as well as suggestions for supporting their continued learning at school.
Parents are invited to seek advice from our kindergarten teachers about the transition to school strategy that we have as part of the service.
Sustainability is an extremely important aspect of modern life. People are becoming increasingly mindful of how their actions impact the local and global environment. At Botanica, we are passionate about sustainability in the early years. At our school we endeavour to educate children from an early age to recognise, understand and appreciate the value of sustainable practices.
We cover various aspects of sustainability at our school. We aim to be as energy-efficient as possible in terms of how we operate, and we teach children to be mindful of their own energy usage as well. In addition, our school learning environment aims to teach children to practice sustainability in everyday action. We encourage them to practice in gardening, composting and recycling.
Our main sustainable practices at school are: Recycling, Gardening, Energy conservation, Water conservation, Sustainable equipment purchases
